My research interests are in Acute Brain Injury (Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (SAH)) and in particular the innate inflammatory response following TBI. Inflammation plays a role in secondary injury following TBI, but is also the starting point for reparative processes. I also have an interest in cerebral metabolism multi-modality monitoring as a means of refining and personalising treatment for patients. I am closely involved with the TBI-REPORTER Experimental Medicine Network
